A history of service
Burnetts Garage was established in the very early 1920's, making it possibly the oldest garage in Merseyside. The original owner was a Captain Burnett. There were changes of ownership until the Dore family of Frankby took control of and made major changes to the business in 1963.
Unfortunately, the Dore brothers fell out and Jack Dore took over. The business enjoyed tremendous trade in the 1970's, regularly selling a hundred new cars a year. However, after a long illness, Jack Dore died in 1987 and the original site in Hoylake was sold to a petrol company.
After being made redundant, Nick Dovey and David Hirst, the mainstays of the business, decided to create the new Burnetts Garage. After a few moves, they found premises on the Carr Lane Industrial Estate that best supported the requirements and future development of the business. Now, after 20 years, they enjoy the support of a very personal and enthusiastic customer base and have embraced the ongoing challenge of new technology.
